The airline has their headquarters located at Darwin, Northern Territory Australia and main hubs are at Darwin International Airport and Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport. They introduced scheduled services to their charter services in 1981. In 2015, Airnorth became fully owned by parent company Bristow Helicopters Australia Ltd.

“Together We Fly” is Airnorth’s company slogan for their services. Airnorth’s CEO is Daniel Bowden. The airline is a member of the Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA).
